‘Welcome to Wazza’ – An Exploration into Young People’s Civic Identity and Experiences Living in Warrington.
10 November – 20 December 2023
Please note that the exhibition is closed on weekends.
In partnership with Youth Focus North West, Warrington Youth Service and Warrington Youth Zone, this youth-led exhibition explores what it means to be a young person living in Warrington. This project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and is part of a wider five-year youth recovery project called Authoring Our Own Stories.
Over the past eight months, seven young people have been trained to become peer researchers and developed their own creative research project – Welcome to Wazza – which has worked alongside 100 young people aged 13-22. This exhibition highlights the arts-based research that has been undertaken with a variety of young people from all walks of life in Warrington.
The aim of Welcome to Wazza is to allow decision-makers and those working with young people to hear real-life perspectives from young people who engage in a variety of services in Warrington and take action on improving what is available in the town.
Welcome to Wazza is led by young people, for the future of young people in Warrington.
