What are you grieving for? A loved one, a place, a future?
Is there a song that reminds you of something you’re losing or have already lost? Join artists Chris Alton and Emily Simpson for Grief Karaoke and share that song in a supportive, life-affirming space. This event is free and open to all. Singers of all abilities welcome!
How it works: The event starts at 12pm with a welcome and introduction. Chris and Emily will sing the first song and explain why they’ve chosen it. A sign-up sheet will be passed around during the event for those who want to sing. There will be no expectation to sing, we also need a supportive audience! Please engage in the way you feel comfortable.
You do not have to stay for the full event. We will finish at around 2pm with a final song, which everyone will be invited to sing together. You are welcome to stay afterwards to chat and view the exhibition.
Please be Aware:
- We ask participants to be respectful and sensitive towards other people and their experiences. We recognise that taking part in an event like this requires people to be vulnerable and so we ask participants to be mindful of this and considerate of each other’s boundaries and the different stages of grief we may be in.
Access:
- This event is for ages 18+ but parents and carers are welcome to bring those they look after if this makes attending possible.
- Warrington Museum & Art Gallery’s access information can be found here.
- Please contact us if you have any other access requirements
