From the Sea View

Join us for the inaugural solo exhibition of mathematician-turned-artist, Angela Gould. From the Sea View is a collection of hand-sewn cross-stitch tapestries. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a painstaking, five-year recreation of the Cornish coast, stitched entirely from memory and mainly completed during the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The resulting seascape is more than just a view; it is a tapestry of human experience: love, loss, hope and connection, and a testament to the healing power of memory and creativity.

This incredible work gained national recognition when it was selected for the prestigious Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024. Also on show in the exhibition are collection of unseen cross-stitch tapestries continuing Angela’s exploration of memory, emotion, and the surprising depth of this medium.
