DATES

D-Day, also called the Normandy Invasion, was an important military action that marked the beginning of the end of the Second World War. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we are displaying a number of items from the collections and archives in the museum and library, including Albert Rowley’s accordion, Arthur Mason’s naval uniform, and Eric Parry’s scrapbook. Each item offers a glimpse into the bravery and sacrifice of local heroes. The display also features a commissioned comic-report by Ste Kilb, reflecting on Eric Parry’s experiences.
