Bar & Catering Manager

Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week)

Location:  Culture Warrington Venues and Off-Site Events

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £24,946 to £28,354 (pay award pending)

If so, we’re on the lookout for a dynamic and self-driven Bar & Catering Manager.

Our arts charity manages Parr Hall, Pyramid Art Centre, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery and Warrington Arts Festival as well as several off-site events throughout the year. However, it is also a time of growth and change for Culture Warrington as our Pyramid Arts Centre is about to undergo a £5million refurbishment to enhance its offer and reach new audiences.

From Jimmy Carr and Scouting For Girls, and many more of the region’s best shows, to community events to conferences, the ideal candidate will be a crucial part of our growing Events Team. This is a unique opportunity for you to join a team which is at the heart of culture in the northwest and help shape our development and offer to the public.

As Bar and Catering Manager at Culture Warrington, you will be responsible for the overall supervision and development of our bars and catering offer across the organisation. Whilst this does not include food preparation on site, it will require managing contracts of external caterers and working with them to deliver an excellent catering offer at our events,

You will assist in financial and staffing aspects, including management of the bar and catering team. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with licensing and food safety regulations.

Culture Warrington offers: 25 days of annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, enhancements on the hours worked between 7pm-7am, as well as weekends, and automatic enrolment into the Cheshire Pension Fund.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of stock management and auditing; including ordering adequate quantities and stock rotation.
  • Effective cash handling and knowledge of banking processes.
  • Experience of managing bars effectively and ideally within a large venue.
  • Experience of using EPOS systems
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills, so to be highly organised.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry with an awareness of banquet/event catering.
  • Experience in working with outdoor bars and/or catering vendors. Barista experience, though not essential, would also be desirable.
