New scanners will help preserve Warrington’s past
Local history groups are being invited to make use of new equipment at Warrington Archives which will help preserve items from the town’s past for future generations.
Culture Warrington’s Archives Searchroom, which can be found in the same building as Warrington Museum and Library on the corner of Museum Street and Bold Street, has a range of new scanning tools which can be used to digitise any historic records or collections.
The equipment is free and easy to use with no previous digital experience needed and Warrington Archives staff will be more than happy to help.
Culture Warrington and LiveWire secured a grant for the tech from Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership as part of the Made.Digital project.
Any history groups in Warrington that have collections they are keen to digitise/preserve are welcome to make free use of the equipment and will be fully supported by Archives staff. Basic training is also available.
