Our Covid policy at Pyramid and Parr Hall – Q&A

The government has just announced ‘Plan B’ – a winter plan to tackle the fast spreading Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

New restrictions are being put in place to reduce the spread of the virus and the burden on the NHS. The updated rules apply to Pyramid and Parr Hall events so below is a Q&A with everything you need to know before attending one of our shows. Our terms of entry are constantly under review in line with the latest official guidance.

 

What’s changing at Pyramid and Parr Hall following the government’s ‘Plan B’ announcement to tackle the Omicron Covid variant?

Masks

From 10 December, face masks will be compulsory in most indoor venues. That applies to events at Pyramid and Parr Hall. Unless you have an exemption, you must wear a face covering to gain entry to any of our shows. You should continue to wear your mask throughout the performance but there are a number of exceptions. For example, you can remove your mask for practical reasons such as while eating or drinking.

Covid Pass

From 15 December, the NHS Covid Pass scheme becomes mandatory in most settings where large crowds gather. Customers will see little change at Pyramid and Parr Hall as we have already been operating a Covid Pass scheme for a number of weeks now and this will continue to be in place in line with the latest official guidance. We will be asking guests to show their Covid status at all future events until further notice.

 

In what ways can I prove my Covid status for live events now that the NHS Covid Pass scheme is becoming mandatory?

Please provide one of the following when attending a Pyramid or Parr Hall event

  • Proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours prior to attending the event (this can be shown via an NHS text or email)
  • Proof of vaccination via the NHS Covid-19 app. (Second dose to be received 14 days prior to the event. The booster jab is not currently needed to qualify for the Covid Pass).
  • Proof of immunity due to positive PCR test within the last 180 days. 10 day isolation must be completed.
  • Please note we will no longer be accepting the blue NHS cards from 15 December

 

How can I access my Covid Pass?

  • You can access your NHS Covid Pass through the free NHS app, for which you need to be registered with a GP in England.
  • You can also view your vaccination status on the NHS website and print a paper version if you are unable to use the app.
  • If you cannot access online services, you can call 119 to request a letter that will provide evidence of your vaccination status.

 

I have chosen not to be vaccinated. Can I still attend your events?

Yes, we appreciate that having a vaccination is a personal choice. For those who haven’t or do not want to be vaccinated, proof of a negative lateral flow test (as above) is perfectly acceptable to prove your Covid status.

 

Are the blue NHS cards still being accepted as proof of vaccination?

Unfortunately not. The blue vaccination cards will no longer be accepted to prove Covid status for Pyramid and Parr Hall shows from 15 December. The cards were accepted as an interim measure while guests got used to the new terms of entry.

 

Should I arrive earlier for a show due to the pre Covid checks?

We aim to make pre-show checks as non-disruptive as possible but please arrive in plenty of time as it could take a little longer to get into the venue at times. Keep an eye on our website and social media for any updates on arrival times for specific shows.

 

Can I take a lateral flow test at Pyramid/Parr Hall?

Not currently. Please ensure you make the relevant preparations before attending an event.

 

Is it possible people may be turned away at the door if they are unable to or decline to show their Covid status or comply with the new measures?

Unfortunately this may be the case in some rare situations but we will always do our very best to avoid this. For that to work we need your help in understanding that the rules around face coverings and the NHS Covid Pass are being made mandatory. This is something we have to enforce by law. We very much appreciate that Plan B restrictions will have an impact on visitor experience but we really have to put everyone’s safety first.

 

Are masks available if I forget mine?

A limited number of masks may be available (this may be at a charge) but we cannot guarantee this and highly recommend that you plan ahead and bring your own.

 

I have a face mask exemption. Can I attend Pyramid and Parr Hall shows?

Yes you can, we understand that not everyone can wear a face covering. Please alert a member of staff to your exemption during the pre-show checks.

 

Do the Covid rules apply to under-18s and children’s shows?

Children under 18 do not have to prove their Covid status and children under 11 have no requirement to wear a face mask. For customers, aged between 11 and 17, we do however recommend they take a lateral flow test within 48 hours of the event.

 

Do you have any other pre-show advice?

Even if you are fully vaccinated, we recommend that visitors take a lateral flow rest before an event. Please also be aware, venue doors could be opened during the event to assist with airflow. This could have an impact on the venue’s temperature so you may want to bear that in mind in terms of what you wear. Please also keep an eye on our website or social media for any further or updated guidance.

 

I’ve bought tickets to an upcoming show but no longer wish to attend due to the new rules / pandemic situation. Are refunds available?

Refunds are only currently available if an event is cancelled or rescheduled.

 

How long will these measures be in place?

We do not want to keep these measures in place any longer than we have to. The last thing we want to do is put barriers up to customers but we have to strike a balance between the best visitor experience possible and safety measures. The health and safety of our customers, staff and artists always has to be our main priority. We’re constantly reviewing our measures in line with government and Public Health guidance and look forward to a time in the near future when we can get back to normality. We really appreciate your support and understanding at this difficult time.
