Seven Ways to Support our Charity

As we begin to look back over 2020, one thing that has to be agreed on is the colossal impact Covid-19 has had on the arts and entertainment industry.

When Pyramid & Parr Hall closed their doors in March, little did anyone know that our halls would remain empty for the remainder of the year.

Even with the government’s Cultural Recovery Fund, venues across the nation are still struggling, including our own charity.

Venues like Pyramid & Parr Hall rely predominantly on income from ticket sales, money that is in turn invested back into our charitable work with freelance artists, delivering education programmes, operating our free Museum & Art Gallery, and presenting free cultural opportunities such as last year’s Light Night event.

However, we have been truly overwhelmed by the incredible support and generosity we’ve received over the past several months and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us during this time.

If you would like to help, there are plenty of ways to get involved, including:
  1.  Donating your ticket cost or booking fees;
    During the pandemic, we have seen customers donating the cost of their tickets or booking fees for cancelled or rescheduled shows, instead of receiving a refund. This generosity is a huge lifeline to our charity and has been helping to sustain us until we can bring live events back to our stages. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us in this way. To find out more, please speak to our box office team on 01925 442345.
  2. Booking ahead;
    Our stages may be empty for now but we have a whole raft of top-quality, unmissable shows coming your way next year. From comedy heavyweights such as Jimmy Carr, John Bishop and Sarah Millican, to music legends such as Scouting For Girls, The Stranglers, and The Slow Readers Club, 2021 is shaping up to be a year to remember! Head to our What’s On page to find out more and book now!
  3. Joining our lottery scheme;
    Support our venues and be in with the chance of winning up to £1000 in cash with our Superdraw Lotto scheme. For just £1 a week, you will be directly helping our charity to deliver world-class arts and cultural opportunities in Warrington, whilst also being in with the chance of winning a fantastic cash prize.
  4. Get Christmas shopping!;
    Give the gift of hope this Christmas by treating your friends and family to tickets to one of our fabulous shows. With plenty on offer from music and comedy, to theatre and dance, we’re sure to have something for everyone! Not sure what they fancy? Speak to our box office team about a gift voucher!

  5. Supporting us on social media – share your memories, share our posts;
    We know times are hard for everyone at the moment but there are plenty of ways for you to help without even spending a penny! Hop online and share your favourite memories, photos and videos from your visits to one of our venues, leave a review or share our posts to your own social media channels.

  6. Making a one-off donation;
    One of the simplest ways to help is to make a one-off donation via our website. Culture Warrington, as a charity, offers people of all ages the opportunity to engage with a world-class arts and heritage offer, right on their doorstep. From introducing children and young people to their first taste of entertainment and culture, to preserving the past for future generations, and supporting local artists to develop their craft, our charity truly is the beating heart of Warrington’s Cultural Quarter. Donations of any size are hugely welcome and make a real difference in protecting and developing these opportunities in the future.

  7. Giving our Box Office a helping hand
    In addition to the loss of live events, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a game-changing effect on venues like ours, with almost all staff members working reduced hours, whilst juggling unprecedented levels of refund requests. As such, although our box office team is working as quickly as possible, it may take a little longer for us to process your request. Please also keep an eye on your junk folder, as some emails may get a little lost along the way!
